West Suburban PADS - Fall 2008
HomeAid Chicago, the official charity of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, seeks your support for our newest project with West Suburban PADS – transforming a 2,800 square foot ground level space into a new, expanded Support Center. The renovation will allow PADS to provide increased employment assistance, weekly life skill classes and, on a daily basis, accommodate more people to meet the ever-increasing demand for services.
The build-out will include the installation of showers and toilets, a handicapped-accessible entrance, reception area, a large meeting and training room, a participant computer lab, laundry facilities, bicycle storage, offices for case managers, and storage space. With that in mind, we seeking donations and assistance with the following:
Flooring
Light fixtures
Electrician services
Plumbing services
Concrete services
West Suburban PADS was established in 1992 to address the growing problem of homelessness in west suburban Cook County. Today, West Suburban PADS serves 20 communities and is the leading provider of homeless services in near west suburban Cook County, providing a continuum of housing and supportive services. West Suburban PADS designs, implements and manages programs and services for men, women and children in four focus areas: emergency shelter, case management services, supportive housing and homelessness prevention. In 2006, the Support Center served 442 unduplicated individuals. With assistance from case workers, almost 200 of the Support Center clients obtained employment or entitlement benefits and 199 obtained stable housing.
